I don’t need to define marketing. In today’s world, where knowledge is at the tip of the finger, defining a concept is futile. Because you can find it and there are plenty of ways to find it. Therefore, I hope to explain a few simple things for those of you who are thinking of starting a business or who have started a business and are currently running it.
Marketing and Sales
If you are a businessman, it is imperative that you become a marketer. But the most basic mistake made by many small and medium businesses is to narrowly define marketing as sales. I know from experience that many small and medium businesspeople think like this. Marketing and sales are two different concepts. Salesmanship is only one of the superficial acts of marketing.
"If we could have sold the goods in any market, it would have been the real marketing." This is wrong thinking. For your business to be successful you must first get rid of this wrong attitude. Selling is not a difficult task if you are a successful marketer. Because a successful marketer can get the customer to demand your product when it's time to sell. So it's a broader process than sales. It is a process that continues from the moment an idea about a product or service is created in the entrepreneur's mind and even after it is sold. Therefore, it should be ensured that it does not become a sale of goods.
Marketing Skills
There are basically two types of skills you need to be a successful marketer.
1. Market Sensing Skills
2. Relationship Building Skills
Above two skills are extremely important for an entrepreneur as well. Let's clarify what their needs are one by one. Market sensitivity means that you understand the market behavior. Who is your customer? How do they think? What are their routines? You must have an understanding about Because they are the ones who buy your products or services. A market is a space consisting of many consumers. Therefore, you must understand the changes in this market. You must be sensitive to the changes in market behavior and behavior. To do so, you must always research the market. As is common practice, you must keep your eyes open.
Another extremely important skill is the skill of building relationships. We do not exist alone in the world. We always need someone else's help. What matters is how you relate to this other. This is the same in business. For the survival of your business, support from various parties is required. Suppliers, intermediaries, government, banks, similar businesses, customers, etc. are all parties necessary for the existence of your business. If so, you should be able to maintain an unbreakable relationship with all these people. Once you build a network of relationships, no one can take your business down. To be a successful marketer as an entrepreneur, it is essential to be a successful business friend to various parties related to the business.
Those facts showed two skills that you think you need as an entrepreneur and that you must develop. You must be interested in improving it. Because it is essential to the survival of your business.
